The week 18-24 November is Prisoners’ Week, a time when we can reflect on and pray for the lives of all those in prison. The following is a beautiful prayer written by Keith, a life-sentenced prisoner and published in Favourite Prayers (Ed Deborah Cassidi. Cassell 1998).

Dear God

I hold up all my weaknesses to Your strength
My failure to Your faithfulness
My sinfulness to Your perfection
My lonliness to Your compassion
My small pain to Your agony on the cross
